Workshop on Renewable Energy Development in Indonesia
September 19, 2018- Jakarta
TPSA organized a one-day workshop to present and discuss proposals, ideas and options to enhance renewable energy development in Indonesia. The workshop was the culmination of a recent study conducted by Glendale Partners on behalf of the TPSA project, which found that a clear understanding is emerging from both public and private stakeholders that Indonesia’s current approach to developing renewable energy projects needs to be further improved if Indonesia is to make any significant progress towards reaching its internationally agreed targets (COP21) for the development of such projects.
The workshop summarised the main issues identified during the study, particularly stakeholder-contributed viewpoints and recommendations. It also provided recommendations to increase focus for renewable energy projects to supply the energy needs of under-served and more remote geographic areas in Eastern Indonesia in the near term. A final report detailing the recommendations for improving the road map will be produced and disseminated following the incorporation of inputs from this workshop.
